Description
Goldfields, Western Australia
Up close, the edge of a tailings pond in the Goldfields turns into pure colour. Deep reds and violets meet a band of electric blue, while the drying crust below glows orange and silver as it folds into soft ridges. It looks more like thick paint on canvas than anything natural, a good reminder of how strange and beautiful these places can be from above.
