Meet Scott
Hi, I’m Scott.
I fly over places most people never get to see, turn them into art, and take people on unique aerial adventures.

My story
How it started
I’ve been taking photos for about 15 years. For a long time it was night sky photography, chasing the Milky Way, and I loved it. After a while, though, I started looking for something new.
I found it about 12 years ago on my first flight over Hutt Lagoon. Shooting from the air had the same pull as the night sky. Both are right there in front of us, yet we rarely get to see them, and the camera has a way of bringing them out. I’ve been hooked ever since.
One flight I’ll never forget is my first over Shark Bay. Seeing that World Heritage coastline from above was almost life changing, and it’s still one of the most special experiences I’ve had in the air.

What I shoot
Abstract, from above
From the air I’m drawn to anything abstract in nature. Salt lakes and tidal flats have that quality, and so do the tailings ponds around mine sites. The environmental side of what I see up there matters a lot to me, and it’s an important part of my work.
I try to put as much of myself into each image as I can. Some are playful, some are joyful, and some carry an environmental message. Above all I want them to feel unique, which is why I keep searching every corner of Australia and the world. When one of my prints is on your wall, I hope you can feel what went into it.
Every print is made on textured cotton rag paper from Hahnemühle or Moab, chosen to suit the image, and comes with a certificate of authenticity. Limited editions are numbered. I’m also grateful that my work has been recognised internationally, including IPA International Fine Art Photographer of the Year.

Australia and the USA
Based in Perth, often in the US
Home is Perth, Western Australia, where most of my flying happens. I also spend a good part of each year in the United States, running workshops and private tours in Utah, Arizona and California.
Whether you’re in Australia or the US, I’d love to hear from you. Come and see prints and papers in person, talk through a piece for your home, or ask me to photograph a place that means something to you. I’ll let you know when I’m next nearby.
Prints ship free across Australia, and worldwide.
US prints are made in California and delivered free, usually within two weeks.

Workshops and tours
Come and fly with me
Running workshops and tours is a big part of what I do. I take small groups to the places I shoot across Western Australia, New Zealand and the US, with doors off flights over salt lakes, coastlines and deserts, and time on the ground in between.
Some guests come to learn how and where I shoot. Others simply want to reach the best locations without the fuss. I also run private tours for individuals and small groups, planned around where you’d like to go.
Either way, you’ll come home with your own images of places very few people get to see.

From people with my prints on their walls
“5 stars all the way around for Scott Jon. One print from the website gallery and one special request from his Instagram. Exceptional artistry and print quality on both. Can’t wait to have them framed.”
Sean Quesada, print collector
“Scott was excellent to deal with. I had my heart set on Mr Penguin for a long time and Scott brought my dream to a reality. I walk past this picture every day and it brings me so much joy.”
Kerry McLeod, print collector
“I purchased a work of Scott’s some months back now and it never fails to capture my gaze as I find something new in it every day! The quality of print and framing is A1 and the care Scott took even to the point of personally hanging it for me was Awesome.”
Jeff Butler, print collector
