Description
Goldfields, Western Australia
A pool of vivid red water sits at the heart of a square tailings pond in the Goldfields, surrounded by grey sediment that fans out in fine branching lines. Below it, a second pond has dried into a pale crust of cracked salt. The colour comes and goes as the ponds fill and dry, so finding it this strong on the day was a real stroke of luck.
