Velvet Tide

From $450

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

When the tide drains off the Dampier Peninsula it leaves the sand ribbed and folded, with channels curling back on themselves like velvet pulled across a table. Low sun picked out every ripple in soft blues and warm rose, and the whole flat looked more like fabric than earth.

Quicksilver

From $590

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

Out on the tidal flats of the Dampier Peninsula, the falling tide carved the sand into silver folds and deep blue hollows. From above it reads like liquid metal caught in motion, and it only looks like this for a short window before the water returns.

Arrowhead

From $450

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

A bright sandbar points into the turquoise waters off the Dampier Peninsula, shaped like an arrowhead by the tides that sweep around it. Deep blue ocean meets pale shallows and patches of reef, with every shade of blue in between. It appears for only a few hours at low tide before the sea covers it again.

Tide Lines

From $590

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

A wide sheet of green water spreads across the flats of the Dampier Peninsula, crossed by fine lines left by the ebbing tide. Above it, braided silver channels catch the light as they drain back towards the sea. It is a scene that changes with every tide, and from the air the whole thing reads like a soft abstract painting.

Where the Tide Turns

From $590

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

On the Dampier Peninsula the tide can drop more than eight metres, and as it drains it leaves the flats carved with channels like this one. A single thread of turquoise water winds back towards the sea through mud that shifts from gold to deep umber. Shot from above as the tide turned, it is a moment that lasts only minutes before the water returns and the pattern is gone.

Three Peaks

From $450

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

Three small sandbars rise out of the turquoise water off the Dampier Peninsula, looking for all the world like a range of snow capped mountains. Lines of breaking waves roll in beneath them, adding to the illusion. It is one of my favourite tricks of scale from the air, where a few metres of sand becomes an entire landscape.

Lantern

From $450

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

Pale tidal channels braid together and glow against the dark mud of the Dampier Peninsula, lit from within like a lantern. The shapes come from the tide pushing in and out across the flats twice a day, carving and filling the channels again and again. Shot as the light dropped, the warm sand tones and deep teal water give this one a quiet, glowing feel.

Up close, the Derby mud flats become something closer to painting: glowing reds, soft greens and folds of earth that seem to burn from within.

Gold Leaf

From $590

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

Low tide light on the Dampier Peninsula, where a channel of green water curls through sand washed in soft gold. The ripples in the sand catch the sun like hammered metal, which is where the name came from. Flying low over these flats is always a race against the incoming tide, and this curve was there for only a few minutes before the water rose again.

Silk

From $590

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

The sand here has been smoothed by the tide until it shines like silver satin, with a single emerald channel folding through it. It is one of the simplest frames I have made on the Dampier Peninsula, and one of my favourites. Everything comes down to the tide and the light, and on this flight both lined up for a few perfect minutes.

Emerald Drift

From $450

Dampier Peninsula, near Broome, Kimberley, Western Australia

Emerald channels drift through rippled white sand on the Dampier Peninsula as the tide pulls back across the flats. Every ridge in the sand catches a little light, giving the whole scene a soft, almost woven texture. These patterns are rewritten twice a day by the huge Kimberley tides, so no two flights ever look the same.

Roebuck

From $450
Roebuck Captured near Broome in Western Australia, this image is my take on the iconic landscape of Roebuck Bay. This part of the country is unmistakably Australian, rich in colour, texture and raw coastal energy. From above, the land and tidal flats break into deep reds and warm earthy tones that feel both ancient and alive. Roebuck Bay is known for its dramatic shifts between land and sea, and from the air those natural patterns turn into bold shapes and colour fields. The textures carved by tides and time give the scene a painterly feel, where mud, salt and water become layers of tone rather than just geography. There is something unapologetically Australian about this place. The colours are strong, the landscape feels vast, and the connection to country is undeniable. I wanted this photograph to lean into that identity, celebrating the raw beauty and intensity that makes the north of Western Australia so unique. As a fine art print, this piece makes a powerful statement on a wall. The rich, earthy palette brings warmth and depth into a space, working beautifully in modern interiors while still carrying the spirit of the Australian landscape.

My Vision

From $450

Derby, Kimberley, Western Australia

Out on the tidal flats near Derby, two tree like channels reach towards each other across the pale mud and meet at a channel that curves into the shape of an eye, with a small island of green at its centre. It is one of those images where the landscape seems to look back at you.

Soft whites and earthy browns keep it natural, while the eye gives it a surreal, memorable focal point.
