Shot high above Useless Loop in Shark Bay, 'Intersection' captures the organised chaos that salt operations carve into the landscape. From the ground, this is just an industrial site, but from the air, it turns into a graphic intersection of colour, line, and texture. Shark Bay is full of places where nature and industry clash and blend, and this was one of those scenes that immediately caught my eye mid-flight. Spa Pool, Hamersley Gorge, Western Australia

Spa Pool in Hamersley Gorge is one of those places that feels sculpted more than formed. This particular composition, which I’ve come to call Karijini Eye, captures the layered rock wrapping around the turquoise pool like an iris, perfectly circular and full of depth. It’s easily one of Western Australia’s most recognisable natural features, and for good reason.

I’ve shot this spot a few times now, but on this visit the colours were cleaner, the water stiller, and the light more forgiving than usual. The curved rock formations around Spa Pool seem to focus everything inward, and I wanted to highlight that sense of pull — how everything leads you toward that one clear pool tucked into the gorge wall.

It’s an image that feels like balance. Between water and stone. Between chaos and order. And it’s part of my International Print Series, which brings together grounded and aerial perspectives of Australia’s most iconic and abstract landscapes.

Karijini National Park never fails to deliver something dramatic, and this image from the Hamersley Gorge region was one of those unexpected moments. This section of the Pilbara is raw, textured and intensely beautiful. It’s no wonder Karijini has become one of Western Australia’s most iconic inland landscapes.

I shot this in the soft light just after sunrise, when the shadows still added depth to the ridges and the contrast between warm stone and cool water brought everything to life. Karijini has a special place in my heart and features numerous times in my International Print Series, as it represents that mix of isolation and power I’m always drawn to.

Photographed on foot at the mouth of Spa Pool in Hamersley Gorge, Karijini Waves draws attention to the incredible rock formations that twist and flow around this iconic location. Instead of framing the classic pool view, I took a step back and focused on the sweeping textures just before the water, where the layered rock fans out like waves caught mid-motion.

This part of Karijini is well known for its natural beauty, but what struck me here was the detail and form when viewed up close. The ancient ironstone folds in on itself with rhythm and grace, shaped by time, water and heat into patterns that feel almost sculptural. The scene felt calm and immersive, with soft early light pulling out the subtle blues and shadowed edges between the richer ochres.

Timing was key. The light changes quickly in the Pilbara, and I wanted to hold onto the softer tones before the sun moved overhead. The result is an image that feels both bold and quiet, a closer look at a landscape that’s often photographed for its wider drama.
